Ajax Maharlika graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, with degrees in Digital Cinema, Theatre and Filipino. While at UHM, Ajax earned many accolades for both his acting and directing roles, including winning four semesters in a row in his Filipino program's bi-annual Songfest and Dramafest, winning the Audience Choice Award for his film Spare Change in his film program's Winter Showcase and the Imagine Award for his indigenous documentary Tekniklingz: Modern Filipino Tinikling. He also played a principal role in Koa Ohana (Director: Erin Lau), which won the Audience Choice Award in that same showcase. Ajax has portrayed human-trafficking gang boss Frankie Choi in CBS' hit show, Hawaii Five-O. He can be seen playing a rebel with a hot, steamy sex scene in pop-star Halsey's music video New Americana and starring alongside Heisman trophy winner Marcus Mariota in an Island Insurance commercial. Ajax has also worked closely with Leila Steinberg, Tupac Shakur's former manager, bringing her emotional literacy organization, Aim4TheHeart, to Hawaii, with the goal of providing weekly workshops where troubled children and teens can express themselves through art, music and poetry. In 2018, Ajax founded The Maharlikan Foundation, a Hawaii-based non-profit organization that aims to empower the youth through film, fashion, food and fun. Aside from working on many major motion pictures that have filmed in Hawaii, Ajax has worked as assistant to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, David Spade, Ed Skrein and Academy Award winner John Ottman. In his spare time, Ajax enjoys writing and performing spoken word/Hip Hop music and coaching and mentoring champion athletes and elite military personnel (Marines, Army Special Forces, Army Rangers, etc.) at War Horse Strength Camp's Champion Development Academy.
