Rich Price is a songwriter/composer from the American band The Sweet Remains, along with Greg Naughton and Brian Chartrand. Born in Lagos, Nigeria, he lived in five countries throughout his childhood (Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Taiwan, Hong Kong, United Kingdom) before his family moved to the US. He went to high school at Branson in Marin County, California, before attending Hotchkiss (Lakeville, CT) for a post-graduate year. He studied History and Theatre at Middlebury College in Vermont, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He received a Masters in History from Oxford University. In 2001, his college roommate (Pete Francis of Dispatch) produced Price's debut album, Night Opens. That fall, Price joined Dispatch on the road and filmed 'Under The Radar,' the documentary of Dispatch's legendary "final tour." The next year, Price was signed to a development deal with RCA Records, where he began collaborating with Andy Zulla. After being dropped by RCA, Price was signed to Geffen Records, where he produced his album "Miles From Anywhere." The song "I'm On My Way" was featured on the Shrek 2 soundtrack. After leaving Geffen in 2004, Price went on to write and record music for film and television before returning to recording and touring with Greg Naughton and Brian Chartrand in the band The Sweet Remains. The Sweet Remains have released 3 albums (Laurel & Sunset, North & Prospect, Night Songs). A feature film based loosely on the band called The Independents is now in production. He and his wife Kimberly have five sons, and they live in Burlington, VT.
