Bonnie Efird is an LA-based actress, improviser, writer and producer. A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Bonnie moved to Los Angeles in 2012 and has studied acting with LA greats including Anthony Meindl, Craig Wallace, Howard Fine, and Margie Haber. Bonnie's sketch and improv comedy training hails from Upright Citizens Brigade LA and The Groundlings. She has performed many a show on many a stage at UCB as well as various independent improv theaters around the city, and is known for her character "Fun Mom" inspired by her own real-life over-the-top chardonnay-loving mother. Most recently, Bonnie starred in mockumentary pilot "The Gentle Art" portraying Dr. McKenzie Miller - a sarcastic yet like-able fresh-out-of-med-school anesthesiologist. Bonnie has starred in a myriad of independent films, sketches and theater/musical theater productions. She is a writer and producer of the comedy series Bonathan Sketch alongside her writer/director husband, Jonathan Cooke. Bonnie has written a female ensemble comedy pilot that is based on her mom's wild southern 50's-something friend group who are always up to no good. Bonnie has worked as a producer, unit production manager and AD on a myriad of independent shorts, web series and feature films, including Tane McClure's Sci-fi film Voyager 2150 which has won over 30 awards on the film festival circuit. But wait, there's more! Bonnie is a USEF FEI JR/YR National Dressage Champion (read: professional level equestrian) and trained singer (alto belter!). Bonnie holds a B.A. in Journalism and an M.A. in Strategic Communications from Pepperdine University, meaning..... she knows how to pitch herself, and her work.
