Edward deGruy

Born in Mobile, Alabama he was raised by a single mother for the most part with some periods of time having a step father present. His mother was always involved in the retail or music industry through her working life. She tried not to instill any beliefs in him besides right and wrong and allowed him to judge for himself most all social values. Her guiding quote to him was "There are only two types of people in the world - a**holes and not a**holes." As he moved into teen years he was an indifferent student but did excel in history and ROTC/military studies. In high school (Murphy High School) he discovered drama in a formal setting thus beginning his love for the stage of all forms. He also discovered guitar playing in his early teens leaving him to play in several bands in his life. During his teens his life would further be guided by his discovery of the Four Strong Winds Coffee House and the people there. It was as liberal a place as could be found in the town at that time and helped him understand more all sides of life. His love of acting and performance continued throughout his life while he pursued other careers including archaeology, publishing, enlisting in the Army, and veterinary. He eventually pursued a higher degree in psychology because "Groups are easy, people are hard." He was married for 27 years but through most of it his partner and he maintained a poly amorous lifestyle.
