Laura Koons

Laura Koons, a Native Texan, was born at Webb AFB in Big Spring, Texas. Her father is a USAF Veteran Instructor Pilot and a retired DAL International Airline Captain. Her mother is an Irish-American who chose to stay at home to raise both Laura and her younger brother in Crystal Lake, Illinois. Both parents were raised in Chicago, Illinois. Laura's family hails from a long line of brave Chicago Police Officers and Firefighters. Laura has earned an AS in Criminal Justice, a BS/BA in Finance/Economics, and a MA in Teaching. She has held a variety of careers which has proved invaluable in creating believable intriguing screenplay characters. Laura continued to advance her screenwriting career by obtaining Alumnus status among ScreenwritingU's ProSeries Professional Screenwriting Program, as well as their Master Screenwriter Certificate Class. Laura made her first film debut as an Actress in Joy Comes in the Morning; while also performing Line Producer and Script Supervisor responsibilities. Laura is a SAG-AFTRA Actress and enjoys helping co-chair the Houston-Austin Local SAG Awards Viewing Parties. Based in the Houston area, Laura Koons is also the Founder of Lost Lion Productions, LLC, a SAG Signatory Production Company.
