Deva Jean-Philippe is an actress. She was born in Alençon Normandy France, and was raised in a middle-class household in Royan a seaside resort town on France's Atlantic coast. Her mother Habiba is a nurse originally from Imintanout a Berber village in the high Atlas Mountains of Morocco and is also of Gnawa ancestry. Her father Eric was a strict French captain firefighter from Paris with German ancestry. She is the grand-daughter of retired Normandy fire chief Edgard Bouchain. From age 6 to 15 Deva was a gymnast and went on to win local competitions. She studied in Sainte-Marie catholic high school where she would play pranks on nuns and loved English and history classes. During her gap years Deva spent her time reading literature, painting oil canvases, explore Europe and learned English on her own carrying an English dictionary with her at all time. At the age of 20 she moved to Paris and made a brief stay at Court Florent, pursued her drama study with John Strasberg and continued her training at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. later she went on to perform in fringe theater in London England and played Titania, Queen of the Fairies in Shakespeare's comedy "A Midsummer Night's Dream". Today Deva Lives and works in Los Angeles California.
