David Edward Lawrence was born July 9th 1958, in Lansing, Michigan. While in high school he did two safety films for the school and this kindled a burning desire to be involved with the making of movies. Graduating from high school in 1976 he joined the United States Navy volunteering for duty in submarines. He served on fast attack and Fleet Ballistic Missile submarines in both the Atlantic & Pacific Oceans and is a veteran of the Cold War and Operation Desert Storm. The depths of the ocean and submarine service did not squelch the burning movie desire inside and in 1977 the flame was fanned while stationed in New London, Connecticut. David appeared in three films, one of which was used as a training film. After graduating from Submarine School he was transferred to Oahu, Hawaii for additional training and appeared in two more training films one of which was used by the United States Air Force at Hickam AFB. Many productions were filmed in Hawaii while stationed in Hawaii and a highlight was watching one of the last Hawaii Five-O episodes filmed in 1980. While stationed in Hawaii on board the USS Abraham Lincoln SSBN 602 in 1980, David was selected as an extra for the filming of M Station: Hawaii, a Jack Lord Production. A dream fulfilled, David got to meet Jack Lord (one of his TV star heroes) and the cast of the TV pilot. David retired from the Navy in 1996, and lives in South East Georgia. The flame continues to burn and continues to be fanned having been an extra in two films since retirement; Mr. Bags a TV pilot in 2010 and Preserve a feature motion picture filmed in 2013.
