Christina Jones is an American Actress of primarily German (partly Swiss-German), Scandinavian, English & French-Canadian descent with a dash of Spanish and even subtler Italian. She is often asked about her ethnic background which enables her to share about the great influence of her grandparents (whom she'd often quiz on their origins) on her. She was born in Spokane, Washington and has lived in Los Angeles for nearly a quarter of her life. Her first taste of performing started at the age of three when she began Jazz dance classes that she continued into adolescence. She began her acting career performing in dinner theater productions in her hometown at the Lion's Share Venue and The Bing Crosby Theater. Although her love of acting truly began somewhere between her being ludicrously proud of her role as the Wizard of Oz in the third grade, and the home videos as a child where she was the inspirational baby doll of her older cousins and nuclear family. Christina landed her dinner theatre career through studying acting at Spokane Falls Community College where she graduated with honors. While continuing to star in dinner theatre, she went on to the only nearby school with a film program, Eastern Washington University where she studied film and sociology. In the winter of 2011, she had a car accident on the snow covered Eastbound I90. Pretty frightened from the incident, and receiving GPA repercussions for one missed day from an unsympathetic film professor, this is when she decided to put her bachelor's degree on hold. She proceeded to attend Glen Dow Academy in Downtown Spokane where she graduated from the Esthetics Program in 2012 and received the Achievement Scholarship for her excellence in the program. She quickly became a licensed esthetician in Washington State before moving to California and passing a second state board exam. She is currently a licensed esthetician in California and is very knowledgeable about skin care. Christina moved to Los Angeles in July of 2012. In the summer of 2012, Christina was brought on to host a Pacific BMW event filling the absence of the 2012 Playboy Playmate that normally hosted. In 2013 she had over 200 auditions for acting roles. She booked her very first audition in LA in 2013 for her role in Dumplings, a Senior Thesis Short for the Pasadena Arts Center, Graduate Student, Peter Yu. In her role as Linda, she studied to portray a blind woman and learned how to make Chinese Dumplings. Through her connection to the Pasadena Art Center, Christina appeared in a couple of music videos by MTV Music Video Award Winning Director, Jon Jon Augustavo. Incidentally, the first music video featured, Jinx Alive aka Derrick Jenkins, an artist from her hometown, Spokane. Later in 2014, she was also the lead in a Sony Spec Commercial Project for Walter Diaz at the Art Center. Continuing to work in a restaurant and a salon in Woodland Hills while living in Calabasas, Christina would often get into trouble for taking extended lunch breaks to make her auditions in Hollywood. During this time, she attended Act Club (now Screen Actors' System) in Sherman Oaks taught by Ryan R. Williams who has since been voted by Backstage Magazine as LA's Number One On-Camera Acting Teacher. Ryan is still a coveted mentor to Christina, present day. In early 2014, Christina had also starred in a reenactment episode of Cry Wolfe for the Discovery ID Channel where one of the extras on set talked her into doing extra work. The extra on Cry Wolfe had made some compelling arguments for the extra work he wanted to include her in. One of the gigs, Lake of Fire, would provide a Taft Hartley which could later be used as one out of three to get into the Screen Actors Guild. While on the set of Lake of Fire, the Director liked Christina's emotional responses to the speaking actor and decided to feature her in some cut-aways. The other gig, USC's biggest production ever, was produced by some actor named James Franco. Christina didn't recall who James Franco was, at the time, when they said, "Villain from Spider-Man," she mistook him for Willem Dafoe. She ultimately agreed to the extra work because it was sure to impress a former love who happened to be USC Alumni and she had wanted to attend USC prior to that; researching it among other Universities before choosing the more convenient EWU. The production was Don Quixote, and it paid a lovely tribute to what Orsen Welles had tried to accomplish and lost the rights to decades earlier. Christina ultimately met many great contacts and learned a lot from the experience. One of the producers, Tarek Tohme, cast her in a music video for the extremely talented singer, Micayla De Ette. In 2014, while attending the American Film Market in Santa Monica, CA, Christina met Milan Award Winning Director and member of the Directors' Guild of America, Nunzio Fazio. Nunzio has become a great film mentor to Christina. He is always available to answer any technical questions that Christina's inquisitive mind can conjure and she learns a lot from just listening to him craft his own projects. He also trusts Christina's feedback when he is developing or polishing his work. They spend many hours just talking about film. They often attend the DGA and learn from the greatest living Directors while screening new as well as time-honored films. As of 2019, Christina is set to play a supporting role in Nunzio's Series, Beachwood Canyon, recently performing in marketing materials. In 2015, with waning momentum in her acting career, Christina, had no idea how to proceed with her acting. Randomly, she met a fellow Washingtonian at the Grocery store conversing over Apples whose roommate, Vincent Ybañez, just so happened to be working on his Graduate Thesis for Hollywood Columbia College. She was then cast as Leslie in Domicile, where she played the ghost of a murdered wife and did the voice-over narration of the TV reporter. While on the set, her co-star, who is a longtime Beverly Playhouse West Student, and Christina conversed about acting schools while she contemplated where to attend. Shortly after, Christina heard about James Franco's school, Studio 4, opening and had been given a Meisner book back in Spokane. Seeing the congruencies as guidance, she began attending Studio 4 in early 2015 where she studied with Anthony Montes, a former Meisner student, and eventually followed him when he left and studied with him again in 2016. Anthony really focused on breaking some of the habits that Christina had developed and helped her to get out of her head as an actor, so that she could effectively utilize emotional preparation using Meisner and Strasberg based exercises. In addition, he also helped her to further develop and utilize her skills as a writer and filmmaker. Anthony encouraged Christina (as all of his students) to enter into the SF3 Smart Flick Film Festival. In 2015, Christina wrote, produced, directed, acted in, and edited; Siempre Sonar Pájaro. In 2016, Christina wrote, produced, directed, acted in, and edited; Penny 4 Your Thoughts. From 2014 to 2015 Christina also wrote Apartment #8, a somewhat auto-biographical screenplay, focusing on domestic violence, substance abuse, and how cultural influences had directly influenced her earlier life. In 2018, Christina guest starred in an episode of From Russia with Love, a new web series being developed by Colin Costello and his wife, Charlotte Roi. Christina currently attends Grok Acting Studio in North Hollywood where cultivating a Self-Technique is emphasized. She finds this to holistically embody all that she has learned before. Led by Sean Rose, a trusted friend and confidant, Christina plans to exercise and grow as an actor and filmmaker in this complementary environment. In addition, she has big plans for her screenplay, The Synchronicity, and has been busy building and forming a Hollywood adjacent independent production studio in Hancock Park. She is also producing an esthetic skin care line called, Youth Fountain Spa, as health and beauty are of great interest to her. Daily, she immensely enjoys the vast and diverse art culture of Los Angeles, CA attending plays, events, workshops and festivals as the opportunities present themselves. She is always anticipating projects and for fun takes classes from near to her roots, various forms of dance and pilates, to keep active.
