Yelrihs Nathaly Carrillo is an actress born on February 14th and raised in southwestern Ontario by parents Shirley (née Rivas) and Rafael. She is the eldest of three children. She is of Hispanic and European descent. At the age of 16, during a local theatre rehearsal, a talent agent took notice of her acting abilities and signed her on to his agency. She was introduced to director Aaron Huggett, who asked her to audition for a role in his film. She audition for the lead role, but was instead cast as Amy - in a supporting role, in the award-winning indie film, Flicker (2005). Soon after, she was cast as the lead role for the show Pizza Rider: The T.V Series. The series never made it to the air due to a conflict between the parties involved with the making of the show. While filming Pizza Rider, she was a student at the University of Western Ontario. She had minor roles in Shakespearean stage productions of Hamlet and Macbeth at the university, but gained valuable experience from her colleagues and professors. She excelled in academics, arts, and athletics and ultimately graduated with a degree in Political Science. Subsequently, she successfully passed the Law School Admission Test exam, but did not continue her career in law as she wanted to pursue acting on a full-time basis. In 2011, she moved to Toronto to start working towards a professional career in acting. She began taking private and group lessons with award-winning actor/director Walter Alza of Get Rich or Die Tryin' (2005); The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art alum actor/director Tim Kachurov and; award-winning director Dean Bajramovic of Gangster Exchange (2010). In 2012, she was cast as Sosumi executive Maria Kaufman in the highly anticipated sci-fi series Out of Time (2012); underachiever Samantha in the comedy short Lost and Found (2013) and; as a Russian-hired assassin in Double Tap (2014).
