Sudeshna Sen grew up in India and Japan before moving to the United States for graduate school. Her films highlight women, immigrants and people of color. She is the writer/ director of MEHNDI (2018) and Julia's Farm (2015). Her films have screened at Seattle International Film Festival, Outfest L.A., Boston LGBT Film Festival, Chicago South Asian Film Festival and New York Indian Film Festival among others. For her work Sudeshna was nominated for the Lynn Shelton OCA grant in 2020. She has a Ph.D in Japanese literature and visual culture.
