Lloyd Kalipinde

Lloyd Kalipinde was born in Lusaka, Zambia and was named after his grandfather who was a boxer. Kalipinde spent many of his childhood years visiting his grandfather at his farm where he learned the art of boxing. Lloyd inherited his love for sports and entertainment at a very young age. In high school, Lloyd Kalipinde excelled in most team sports especially Basketball and went on with his team to represent Zambia at the National Championships Zone 6. His career in Basketball was promising, however a severe knee injury cut it short. Sports taught Lloyd Kalipinde discipline and dedication but mostly he learned how to get up after a fall. Realizing that his career in sports was halted he decided to pursue his passion for the arts and entertainment. He started by acting in locally produced soap operas, modeling and appearing in various commercials. But his career catapulted into new heights in 2006, when he participated in the Endemol produced reality show Survivor Africa: Panama. It was the perfect opportunity for Kalipinde to combine his skills as an athlete and his passion for performing and acting on television. The show Survivor Africa opened up a lot of doors for Kalipinde, he got the opportunity to go to Montreal, Canada to study acting at the Montreal School of Performing Arts. Then Kalipinde traveled to Los Angeles and started building connections in the acting industry. Since then, Kalipinde got offered 2 leading roles in a US Aid sponsored mini-series in Zambia, as the lead character "Charlie Lucky", to promote healthy living and awareness against HIV/Aids. Alongside his acting career, Kalipinde developed a passion for the Afro-Brazilian martial arts discipline Capoeira. He embraced the art as a lifestyle and was amongst the first to introduce it to Zambia and teach it. After receiving numerous accolades in Zambia and across Africa, Kalipinde traveled to Los Angeles in 2012 hoping to pursue more acting lessons with the world famous acting instructor Ivana Chubbuck. He enrolled in acting classes at Chubbuck's studio where he is learning to hone his craft from one of the best in the industry!!!
