Mariama Whyte

Mariama Whyte, is a dynamic actress, singer and songwriter. A Cleveland, OH native, she recently received rave reviews in her appearance in the relaunch of "Simply Simone: The Music of Nina Simone" at Karamu House. Mariama has performed leading roles in the Broadway National Tours of The Color Purple and Disney's The Lion King. She has appeared at The Cleveland Play House in productions of The Amen Corner, and its New Ground Theatre Festival's The Nolan Williams Project and In the Groove and Over the Top. She has been featured in regional commercials, modeling ads and various independent films. Mariama has shared the stage with famed music producer David Foster and has opened for renowned artists such as Stephanie Mills, Jeff Bradshaw, Rahsaan Patterson and Algebra Blessett. As a recording artist, Mariama has released EP's and singles including "Find Your Light," and "I Need You."
