Michael is a writer/director from Los Angeles, where he grew up in the Watts and Harbor Gateway neighborhoods. His films are characterized by: family & fantasy, magic & miracles. Michael's first series of shorts are guerrilla style films in cold war nations: Serbia, Belarus, and El Salvador. His film "Mi Tesoro" became the first Salvadoran-produced fiction film on HBO. Michael is recognized in Remezcla Magazine's Top 10 up-and-coming Latino directors. Michael and his team won the Icaro, Central America's premiere film award for his short film "The Bell". That same year, Michael was the first filmmaker to premiere not one, but two short films at LALIFF's 18th edition. ABC showcased Michael's work as part of Hispanic Heritage month. In addition, the Academy selected Michael for the inaugural cohort of their Film Accelerator program. "Love Doll", his feature film debut, premieres this year. Michael is the son of Salvadoran Civil War refugees and is a scholar of war and technology. He's spent 15 years working in the Aerospace Industry and holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
