Zachary Gilbert Patton is an award winning filmmaker based in Toronto, Canada. Zachary was born and raised in the small town of Mitchell, in Southwestern Ontario, Canada. A graduate of the Media Arts Program at Sheridan College, Zachary also went on to graduate with Honours from York University with a BFA in Screenwriting. Zachary's 2014 short film 'Today I did my Laundry' garnered a lot of attention, winning "Best Canadian Short" at the Montreal World Film Festival, while also being screened in Toronto and New York. Zachary works mostly in the narrative and commercial space, but has recently found himself travelling in a documentary lane. Zachary has recently documented a federally funded, arts-based colonial history project that aims to bridge cultural divides through music. This work has taken him to places like Clyde River Nunavut, Comox Valley British Columbia, Attawapiskat First Nations in Ontario, Negril, Detroit and New York. Zachary's short film 'Delusion' has him teaming up with non-profits and Mental Health Advocates such as Out There Creative Therapy, the Canadian Mental Health Association, Laidlaw Foundation and Ontario Trillium Foundation to tell the true story of his cousin's schizophrenia diagnosis. Zachary's primary focus is a relentless search for the truth in every frame.
