Lawrence Sharp was born in Washington D.C to Maria Bowden and Lawrence Cornel Sharp. He was raised in Norfolk, Virginia and graduated from Norfolk State University with a degree in English Literature and Theatre performance. During his time at NSU he performed in multiple stage productions in and out state ranging from the murder mystery play by Agatha Christie's entitled "Mousetrap", a performance as 'Chubby Checker' in a Motown themed musical with the NSU Players at L. Douglas Wilder Hall, and performed in the renowned play August Wilson's "Fences". Upon moving to Brooklyn NY, Lawrence attended Brooklyn College for studies in film production and Business Law. Also during this time Lawrence has become a lifetime member of The Actors Studio. With his roots deep in the humanities and theatre, Lawrence is an attendee and has performed at the Scotland International Festival Fringe in addition to being an avid attendee of the Winston Salem, NC semi-annual 'National Black Theatre Festival'. Lawrence is co-owner of Topal Sharp & Associates which provides services to multiple industries including social services, credit repair advising, and online retail stores/sales. Lawrence DBA 'Make it Plain Keep it Simple' productions will begin a Theatre Festival in his hometown of Norfolk Virginia with an anticipated inaugural event 'August in August' in 2018. Additionally the company has a line up of short films and in 2019/2020 a feature film.
