David 'Blak' Plascencia

David 'Blak' Plascencia was born into poverty in Tijuana, Mexico and immigrated to the United States at the age of 7, where he met and lived with his father, an aerospace engineer. Since 2012, David has worked on over 40 productions. In reaction to the lack of Latino diversity in the industry, David started his own production company and produced Tijuana, a film inspired by his grandparents, that he also acted in. In 2019, Tijuana screened at Slamdance, Bentonville, Hollyshorts and the Rome International Film Festival was nominated for the Imagen Award and won 'Best TV PILOT' at the CFF Chelsey Awards. Tijuana is being developed into a series and will be one of 20 projects selected out of 6000 to be presented to Television buyers at Content London. Most recently, he can be seen in television commercials for Toyota, Children's Institute and Civilrights.org. He is currently cast in 1940s period piece 3 Flowers that begins production in December.
