Saara Elina (born Saara Elina Katariina Kilpinen) is a Finnish actress from Tampere, Finland. Her parents are classical musicians. In her teens, Saara Elina studied at the Finnish Opera Ballet School but after being injured several times, a drama class finally made her realize her passion for acting. In 2008, Ms. Elina auditioned for the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and was invited to study at their two-year Acting Conservatory program in New York City. She graduated in 2010 and worked several years as a struggling actress in and around New York. With no success in the States, Saara returned to Finland in 2013 and has been working mainly in Finnish cinema. Slowly paving her way into a real actress, she is best known for her role as Maaria in Tuftland (2017) (2018) directed by Roope Olenius. She also plays Miranda in Gone to Mexico (2018) (2020) by Marko Möttönen as well as Peppi in Hetket (2021) and Tanja in Punainen Kohina (2021) (2020), both films directed by Sami Pöyry .
