Violeta Acuña is a Paraguayan theater and movie actress, born on October 17, 1990 in Asuncion, Paraguay. Acuña started acting at the age of 12, and with professional debut at the time she attended the Drama School "Roque Centurion Miranda" of the Instituto Municipal de Arte, an institution of arts and a centre for theatre research and outreach in Asuncion, from which she graduated in 2012. Acuña first tv role was in the short series "Situacion Limite" of the Paraguayan television, directed by Ray Armele (2013). Acuña had a role in the accion black comedy film playing Bea (an sacro art traficant) in "Luna de Cigarras" (2014), a film directed by Jorge Diaz de Bedoya, achieved the 3rd blockbuster position in Paraguay behind of "7 Boxes". In 2014, the film was pre-nominated for the 28th Edition of the Goya Awards, in the "Best Foreign Film in Spanish" category and has been released in various countries, as well. In October, 2012, Violeta starred in the play "Las Empleadas, which achieved high success in alternative theater in Paraguay. In october, 2013, she was also invited by Paraguayan director Wal Mayans, to participate in the play "Segismundo".
