I've written a dozen features, plus a dozen pilots/episodes and a couple novels. I could always write good natural dialog. Story took me much longer to get a handle on, nearly a decade. However, now it's one of my greatest strengths. Now that I do understand story, I can craft a compelling and exciting script in a very short time. I'm currently in pre-production on a feature I wrote six weeks ago, and plan to film in September or October (2023) in Tennessee. A crime drama/comedy. I just finished up the 2nd draft yesterday and it's 98% ready to go. I'll also be directing. My previous specialty was comedy, but now I've ventured into thriller, suspense, crime drama and action, and I believe I can craft a terrific story in nearly any genre with real characters that come to life on page and on screen. Rewriting is one of my specialties. However, I typically only need 3 or 4 drafts now to get it right. Whereas in previous years, it would take 7 to 10 rewrites, and the story still wasn't right. That's because of how important structure has become to me, I get it right from the beginning (while still allowing new ideas to come through on the page). I'm much more open to notes and criticism than I used to be, as I'm here to make the film or show its best, not to take credit for every little thing. If you need anything written, rewritten, restructured, or just some dialog work, I've got you covered. I'd be happy to help bring your vision to life on page and on screen.
