Maria Mørkrid

Maria Mørkrid is a filmmaker and actress born in Oslo, Norway to a Russian mother and a Norwegian father. She studied classical music in Moscow as a young girl and dabbled in music for a while, but quickly realized that her passion was in filmmaking. Since then, she was dreaming of becoming an actress and worked in several Norwegian film and television productions. In 2018 she decided to move to Germany and started her studies in film directing. Since 2018 she has been based in Berlin. She writes and produces her own films and has made four short films since finishing her bachelor's degree in directing at MET Film School. During most of the year of 2022 has been in production for her documentary film tackling the subject of migration, war and being a refugee. Her graduation film 'Imitation' will have its world premiere at Ouga Cote Court in 2022.
