Ashley Jordan de Auer Hassard was born in Toronto, Ontario on June 6th 1990. Incurably optimistic, outgoing, and bursting with both energy as well as curiosity, she has an innate desire for discovery, exploring, and a good laugh. Growing up Ashley was an extremely creative child. Enchanted with the arts, she adored having the ability to express herself creatively and seized every opportunity to try her hand at something new. From pottery to tap dancing, acting to painting, and everything in between, Ashley tried it all. Having attended a large liberal arts high school in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Ashley fueled her creative love and graduated with a specialization in Screen Arts from the Claude Watson Arts Program at Earl Haig S.S. While there, she was vice-president of the student council, as well as president of the United Way committee where she led a team of volunteers in raising over $8,000 in generous donation towards United Way. Her involvement in school clubs extended throughout her university career and brought her to new organizations such as: Habitat for Humanity, the Pre-Education society, and Learning it Together. A former international athlete in Aesthetic Group Gymnastics, Ashley competed at the World championships from 2004-2008. She had a passion for volunteering and spent many of her days fundraising for local charities, volunteering as a youth mentor, assisting teaching in classrooms, as well as participating in international service learning. Throughout her university career Ashley spent considerable time giving back to her local and international community, teaching English in the Dominican Republic, opening up medical clinics in Costa Rica, contributing towards sustainable food supplies in Peru, and educating, inspiring, and engaging youth world wide as a Youth Ambassador in Bolivia for the non-profit organization impossible2Possble. Throughout all of this Ashley discovered that her love for giving back to her global community could be combined with the arts, this lead her to modeling in multiple various charity fashion shows, galas, and fundraisers. Volunteer gigs led to larger ventures and before she knew it she was being featured in a multitude of printed magazines, strutting down the runway at Fashion Arts Toronto Week, being featured in music videos and commercials, and most recently, cast as the lead in Emily 2050.
