Deukyun Hwang

Deukyun Hwang is director, producer, writer, and actor from Seoul, South Korea. After finishing college, Deukyun traveled the world extensively, going to fourteen countries across five continents. It is here that she met hundreds of people from all walks of life, which gave her many new and unseen perspectives of life. After almost ten years, she decided to move to New York City to pursue her life long dream of filmmaking. With her experiences from traveling the world, she is able to bring fresh stories we have never seen to the silver screen. Her films have consistent theme of the social and political p problems of people from around the world. Whether it is about an unjust law preventing people from marrying, or about the human trafficking of young women, Deukyun shines a light on these issues and more in an edgy, beautiful, and artistic way. Since working in the indie film industry, Dekyun has written and directed five films, produced over ten, and has acted in films that have been screened in festivals around the world. Deukyun is best known for Anemone, Dust, Piano, and Love In The City.
