Mona Friis Bertheussen is an award-winning director and producer whose documentary films have received international acclaim and exposure. Her latest documentary is Twin Sisters, which won the prestigious Audience Award at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) in 2013, considered to be the largest documentary film festival in the world. Twin Sisters went on to win 10 other awards and has been broadcast by more than 30 TV-channels, reaching an estimated 20 million people worldwide. Mona is the owner of the production company Moment Film, based in Oslo, Norway. Her interest in unique human stories naturally led her to becoming a filmmaker. She is known for an ability to engender trust, and portraying people's stories with a deep meaning. Her passion for documentary film has resulted in great adventures and accolades, including the coveted Human Rights Award for Film from the Norwegian Government. She received the award for 2008's Welcome to Norway.
