Jesse Valencia was born in Phoenix, Arizona. In 2002, he formed rock and roll band Gorky with fellow actor and musician Ben Holladay while the two were in high school. He appeared in his first onscreen role opposite Tom Sizemore in Travis Mills' independent 2016 crime drama 'Durant's Never Closes.' An author as well as an actor, Jesse's book about the infamous psychedelic rock band the Brian Jonestown Massacre, "Keep Music Evil: The Brian Jonestown Massacre Story," will be published April 16th, 2019 by Jawbone Press. Jesse graduated from Northern Arizona University in 2015 with an MA in Literature and an MFA in Creative Writing, and is expected to graduate from the David Lynch Graduate School of Cinematic Arts at Maharishi University of Management in 2020 with an MFA in Screenwriting. In addition to the albums he has made with Gorky, Jesse is also a film composer, contributing score to the award-winning film 'Don't Come Around Here' as well as 'Durant's Never Closes' and Travis Mills' independent horror film, 'Bride of Violence.'
