Sean Dyche

Sean Dyche is the current manager of Burnley F.C. and is the second longest-serving manager in the Premier League having started in October 2012 . Born in Kettering in 1971, Dyche has become a popular figure in the world of British football due to his tactical knowledge and charismatic personality. He began his playing career in the youth ranks at Nottingham Forest under the watchful eye of Brian Clough, before joining Chesterfield in 1990, where he progressed to captain and made over 250 appearances, famously scoring in in their famous FA Cup semi-final against Middlesbrough in 1997. Sean has also represented Bristol City, Luton Town, Millwall, Watford and Northampton Town, earning promotions with three of his six clubs. After retiring as a player in 2007, Sean started his coaching career with Watford's youth team shortly after, and he soon made his way up to assistant manager under Malky Mackay. Mackay left Watford ahead of the 2011/12 campaign and Dyche was promoted to become the Hornets' manager in June 2011, with his first match in charge coming against Burnley at Turf Moor. Watford and Dyche parted company in 2012, which led to Dyche working with the England Under-21 side as part of the staff put together by Stuart Pearce, a former playing colleague of Dyche at Nottingham Forest. In 2012, Burnley appointed Dyche as their manager where he guided the club to a 2nd place finish in the Championship during the 2013/14 season, securing automatic promotion to the Premier League. Dyche was unable to keep the Clarets in the top-flight, but he guided them back to an immediate Premier League return, lifting the Championship trophy in 2015/16. Burnley came 16th in the top tier the following season, and were then 7th in 2017/18 - their best ever Premier League finish.
