Sammie Denham is a dancer, actor, aerialist, choreographer and instructor, with an extensive background in the performing arts. Her strong versatility has made her a successful, sought after artist in the industry. She began her training in Vancouver as a member Harbour Dance Centre's Intensive Training Program and the Source Dance Company. Following her time with the Source, Sammie had the honour of touring as an assistant to world renowned choreographers as part of Groove Street Productions convention tour, as well as signed with da Costa Talent and has since worked consistently in live stage, television and film. She has danced for artists such as Elise Estrada and Mariana's Trench, performed at live events such as the 2015 Pan Am Games Closing Ceremonies and the Times of India Film Awards. Sammie also had the privilege of travelling the world performing in three original productions for Royal Caribbean Productions, created by Moment Factory. A highlight of that experience was a show called The Fine Line - an outdoor aqua show on one of Royal's largest ships in the world - Harmony of the Seas, in which she was part of the original cast and creation team, and performed in and out of the water as a dancer and aerialist. Sammie's dynamic and challenging choreography, combining both athleticism and style keeps her in high demand. She has been on faculty at world renowned studios such Vancouver's Harbour Dance Centre and Joffrey Ballet School in New York. She's choreographed for brands such as L'Oreal, live productions for local companies - the Lover's Cabaret and the Darling's Cabaret, and for the film Meridiem. She also worked as an assistant choreographer for Miss World Canada, So You Think You Can Dance National Dance Day and toured internationally on the audition panel for Joffrey Ballet School's summer intensives, as well as choreographed for their New York Summer Program's showcase. Sammie also choreographed and presented the world premiere of her full length piece for the Sechelt Arts Festival 20th Anniversary Performance: Dances on Water. And most recently - Sammie has moved into the role of assistant choreographer and rehearsal director for Royal Caribbean, assisting in the creation of their newest aqua show - Aqua80.
