Sophia Costanzo is a Cuban-American writer/director born and raised in Los Angeles, California, where her love of movies first began. Her dad would take her to the movies every weekend, and it was in the theaters they went to that celluloid heroes came to life. From then on, she knew that she wanted to write and direct films that brought more women-centered narratives and Latina representation to the screen. Sophia received her BA in Film, Television, and Theatre from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. She returned to sunny California after graduation and received her MFA in Film and Television Production at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.
