Maikaru 'Michael' Douangluxay-Cloud

Maikaru was born Michael Douangluxay-Cloud, grew up at Michael Cloud. His mother was human trafficked, and had him July 7, 1987 in Seattle, Washington. Through trial and tenacity, he was able to obtain his family's freedom. He was able to be the first in his family to receive his High School Diploma. He graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Visual Arts at the University of Washington with a focus on Screen Printing, Photography and Dance. He also studied Japanese in Summer 2012. He got accepted 2014 at Seattle Pacific University School of Business Master of Social and Sustainable Management. His goals are to become a Creative Art Director with an emphasis in Social Justice on a Mainstream platform, and to influence the media industry to have open dialogue about topics that are lightly treaded. Jodie Foster, Daniel Craig, Daniel Radcliffe, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are among some of the top actors and actresses who have had heavy influence on Maikaru. Miyazaki Hayao, Studio Ghibli, and James Bond are films he lists as helping him push forward and overcome human trafficking.
