A fresh face in Chicago and graduate of James Madison University's Theatre Performance Concentration, Diego F. Salinas has established himself as a reliable emerging Latino artist, unafraid to jump headfirst in to new and inspiring work. Since moving to Chicago last summer Diego has shot a short film in Milwaukee (details coming soon!), studied improvisation at iO Theater as a full-ride DiOversity Scholarship recipient, and found the perfect Chicago-Style hot dog. He's eager to discover the rest of Chicago and is looking forward to his next project, whether it be in film, theatre, or voice over work. After graduating in 2018, Diego began touring nationally with Childsplay as a cast member of Tomás and the Library Lady and Maddi's Fridge. Both in school and professionally, Diego has had plenty of experience being a part of the world-premiere cast of several new plays, a process which he finds refreshing, challenging, and artistically fulfilling. During his time at JMU Diego also experimented with Shakespeare, heightened language, devised theatre, theatre of the oppressed, playwriting. He's also fluent in Spanish, French, and Italian. When he's not performing or writing you can usually find Diego tuning his ukulele or playing Dungeons & Dragons with his friends. No matter what, Diego is always ready to dive into something unexpected!
