Kurt Martin is a Director & Writer from Australia. In 2019 Kurt filmed his debut feature film "Moon Rock For Monday", which after a screening, worldwide rights were picked up by Entertainment One (EOne) owned Seville International (Animal Kingdom, The Babadook, Palm Beach) off shoot company; Wazabi Films. In 2020 Kurt was Associate Producer of a short horror genre film directed by critically acclaimed director Alex Proyas (Dark City, The Crow, Gods of Egypt, I, Robot) After studying Law at Sydney University Kurt decided to move study and complete his Bachelor of Commerce at Macquarie University and then, finally went on to complete his Diploma of Film & Television at TAFE. He then continued to further his education by completing an Advanced Diploma at Sydney Film School majoring in Directing. Kurt has directed several short films, some of which have been nominated at international film festivals such as Switzerland International Film Festival, Tokyo Lift Off Film Festival, Mumbai Navi International Film Festival and Los Angeles Lift Off Film Festival. Kurt also has Directed several TVC's, Music Videos, Web Series and Pilot TV Series as well as working on several feature films as an Assistant Director. Kurt is attached to direct his second feature film, the psychological thriller/horror; "The Walrus & The Oyster", which he also wrote the screenplay for. Kurt's comedy screenplay "The Big Murray" was also shortlisted for the prestigious international BlueCat Screenplay festival. Martin loves working with actors and has directed films with well known international actors like Samara Weaving and Australian actors such as David Field, Aaron Jeffery, George Pullar, Nicholas Hope and Alan Dukes. Kurt is a member in the Director's Chapter in the Australian Director's Guild and the Australian Film Institute / Australian Academy of Cinema, Television and the Arts.
