Jayson Cross is a stage actor who transitioned into film and television in early 2014. He began acting in high school, where he completed four years of drama and art. He gave up acting after he dropped out of high school in 1998, completing his GED and pursuing jobs that didn't suit him for the next 13 years. In 2011 Jayson was asked by the local community theatre of his hometown to play a small part, Old Joe, in their production of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol." That role would become three roles in the same production, as they had trouble casting Fred and young Jacob Marley. Jayson would reprise his role of Old Joe in the same production the following year, but this time playing also Marley's Ghost and Topper. Also in 2012, Jayson was cast in "You Wouldn't Expect," a play by accomplished playwright Marilynn Barner Anselmi, about the eugenics program that took place in the mid 1900s. The play was so successful that it became a tour, and they performed in many cities in eastern North Carolina. This same year, Jayson landed the the lead role of Det. Sgt. Trotter in the Rocky Mount, NC Imperial Centre's production of Agatha Christie's "Mousetrap." In May of 2014, Jayson was cast as Carl Avondale in "Test Group," the first in a trilogy of zombie movies filming in and around Atlanta, GA.
