Pawel has been working since 2017, mostly as a camera operator, with cinematographers such as Pawel Dyllus (Nieobecni), Witold Plociennik (Minuta Ciszy), Pawel Chorzepa (The Office PL) and Mateusz Wichlacz. Pawel is preparing for his feature debut, Waiting for Barbarians, directed by Michal Ciechomski, produced by Studio Munka. Set in the not-too-distant future, in a Poland torn apart by a social crisis, it's the story of a 30-year-old in search of his identity, who joins an extreme rightist organization proclaiming the need to defend the fatherland against a threat from the West. Earlier Pawel worked on short films, including Submission (dir. Michal Ciechomski), which was nominated for the Golden Tadpole at the Camerimage 2020 festival; Mother Dear (dir. Zuzanna Sorowka), and Nie moja bajka (dir. Zuzanna Karpinska), for which he received a nomination for the Jan Machulski Polish Independent Cinema Awards in the category Best Cinematography. Pawel worked with Zuzia Sorowka on a competition film for Papaya Young Directors 2021 in the category Branded Stories. Their project for Durex, Freedom on our own Terms, won a special award.
