Rachel Giddens is an up and coming Australian actress and visual artist primarily based in Sydney, and has graduated full time acting courses with Film & Television International in Brisbane, Tafta Sydney and Tafta Los Angeles. Choosing early to expand her studies and knowledge of film & TV, Rachel also has a Foundation Diploma from Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS), where upon graduation she was urged to pursue a career as a Producer. Straight out of AFTRS Rachel was awarded a paid internship working in TV scheduling & production at BBC Worldwide, after which she went on to work at various Sydney production companies as Production Assistant, Assistant Producer & Storyboard Artist/ Illustrator. After a two year pursuit working behind the camera, Rachel started her own successful small business as a professional visual artist, which enabled her to pursue her Acting career. Continuing to expand her knowledge, Rachel studied acting in Los Angeles, before returning to Australia to work and study with aw-inspiring industry professionals in countless independent and professional short films, TV productions, commercials and theatre performances. Her most well known performances within the Sydney acting scene is her work as 'Izzy' in the Exit Game theatre production of Rabbit Hole (Directed by Christie Koppe), her lead role in the short film Bare Intimacy (Directed by Jennifer Karlsson), which artistically explores the inner struggles of a sex addict, and her lead role in the short film 'Le Miroir', where her character Mathilde is a french mute trying to find her voice (Directed by Leila Murton Poole, starring along side Vivienne Powell, Noah Wiseman and Narrated by Michael Caton). As Rachel continues to study the craft of acting, and work as a freelance visual artist, she is known for her quality of work over quantity, while she develops exciting new creative content for film, TV and visual art.
