Jordan Young

Jordan "DJ Swivel" Young, is a Toronto-born, Grammy-winning producer, mixer and songwriter. He's the founder and CEO of Hooky, an AI-powered music startup that puts artists in the front seat and in control of who uses their voice to create the next generation of hits, legally. An innovator at the forefront of music technology, Young's mission is to help artists free their voice and unlock creative possibilities that were once unimaginable. "I do believe we're entering one of the most inspiring eras to create music and connect with fans on a deeper level, and Hooky is going to elevate the culture of music and how it's made," he says. An esteemed music creator, Young has worked on multiple Grammy-nominated and -winning projects. He's contributed to over 60 gold or platinum albums/singles, as well as three Diamond records, selling over 130 million albums/singles as a mixer and producer in America and over 200 million worldwide. Moreover, his work with superstar artists - such as The Chainsmokers, Beyoncé, Jay Z, Rihanna, Coldplay, Dia Lipa, Cardi B, Britney Spears, Whitney Houston, Lil Nas X, BTS and more - has left an imprint on pop culture around the world. He began his musical career in 2005 in New York City, under the mentorship of Duro, a well established mixer, producer and CEO of Desert Storm Records (Fabolous, DJ Clue). Under Duro's tutelage, Young began working with a wide variety of artists including Jay-Z, Diddy, Pharrell, Britney Spears, and Fabolous, eventually recording and mixing the latter's albums From Nothin To Something, and Loso's Way. In 2010, Young went on to work with Beyoncé, recording and mixing her album 4, which won a Grammy in 2012 for Best Traditional R&B Performance for the song 'Love On Top.' He went on to work on part of her follow-up, self-titled album, Beyoncé. A creator first, Young has always been passionate about building a community with resources for creators. In 2014, he founded Headliner Magazine, a music-driven publication, and shortly thereafter SKIO Music, a marketplace connecting buyers and sellers of music content enabling legal remixing at scale by simplifying the licensing process and making deals more transparent. In 2015 he began working with The Chainsmokers, first as a mixer on the Roses EP, followed by mixing and production work on their follow up EP titled Collage. Collage spawned the hits 'Don't Let Me Down' for which he won a Grammy for 2017's Best Dance Recording, and Closer, which topped the Billboard Hot 100 for 12 weeks and broke countless records along the way. In 2017, Young began working with K-Pop superstars BTS, helping write, produce, and mix songs on their Love Yourself and Map Of The Soul series of albums. These albums have gone on to break sales records around the globe, and BTS became the first group since The Beatles to have three number one albums on The Billboard 200 albums chart in one year. In 2023, he was a judge on the music competition "Banded" on AXS TV. Young resides in Los Angeles, where he continues to build Hooky and his creative body of work in the music industry.
