Jo Hardy was born in Tunbridge Wells in England, and studied to become a vet at the Royal Veterinary College in Hertfordshire. She graduated in 2014 with honours. Her interests lie in mixed animal work, including a love for working with African wildlife and volunteering abroad. Jo is a keen supporter of several charities, which include World In Need, Save the Rhino and TRAFFIC. In particular, Jo has worked closely with World In Need to set up a goat health care education campaign in Uganda with the sponsorship of the British Goat Society, the World Veterinary Services and the Veterinary Christian Fellowship. She has also worked with the SPCA, SPANA, Gambia Horse and Donkey Trust overseas. Jo was also awarded the ambassadorial title of Miss Tunbridge Wells in 2014 and continues to support local activities, schools and projects in and around Tunbridge Wells. Jo made her first appearance on national television on BBC2's "Young Vets" which was a great success, regularly attracting in excess of 1.4 million viewers per show. Since the show, she has published two books with Harper Collins, under the management of Andrew Lownie Literary Agency, called 'Tales from a Young Vet' and 'Tales from a Wild Vet'.
