Omar Arteaga is a filmmaker who lives in his native Maracaibo, Venezuela since 1995. His academic training in the cinematographic arts is developed from 2013 at the School of Performing Arts of the Experimental Faculty of Arts of the University of Zulia, studying a degree in Audiovisual Arts. Since then he has managed to complement his learning in various workshops with national filmmakers for training in screenwriting, directing actors and editing for film. Over time he has established a filmography composed essentially of three short films that have allowed him to be screened at various audiovisual exhibitions, where the look and style with which he approaches his works stand out. Papeligro (2015), La Pastilla (2016) and Bailando en el Barro (2021), the latter being premiered at the 37th Chicago Latino Film Festival and celebrated in more than 10 selections in festivals around the world.
