Mandon Lovett

Mandon Lovett is an American filmmaker born in Los Angeles, California and raised in Alexandria, Virginia. In 2009, on a whim, he began creating video shorts, and immediately fell in love with filmmaking. Soon, he purchased an entry-level DSLR camera and began documenting the local arts scene in Miami. Next, he began shooting guerrilla-style music videos for the likes of hip-hop artists Rick Ross, Diddy, Big Sean. Then, small commercials for W Hotels and Carnival Cruise Lines. Eventually, he made it way to long-form storytelling with the documentary, "The Field: Chicago: Violence, Hip-Hop and Hope." In 2014, Lovett ventured back to Los Angeles, California to further pursue his career in film full-time. Over the last decade, Mandon has documented and profiled the newest generation of artists and athletes for a variety of media platforms (NFL, Def Jam, Sony Music). In 2022, he directed on the IDA-award winning television series "Origins of Hip Hop" (A&E), produced Showtime's "Boys In Blue" and directed on "Rap Caviar Presents" (Hulu). His debut feature documentary "French Montana: For Khadjia" will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival (2023).
