Kosta Bakalas

Kosta was born in Cincinnati,Ohio 1/26/53 to George and Estella Bakalas both were musically inclined and sang on radio. His mother was a concert pianist and his father had his own Civil Engineering firm. Later the family moved to Las Vegas Nv where Kosta met Ms Betty Lougaris and joined Media Guilds International. A year later Kosta became President of M G I His goal was to promote Media Guilds International as THE source to go to for voice-over talent in the Las Vegas valley. Kosta had completed several singing tutorials under the direction of Laura Manning, Lauramanning.net, an accomplished and talented singer, songwriter and playwright, and Kosta has studied dramatic arts under the direction of theatrical and screen actor John Armond, Over the years Mr. Bakalas has performed in front of several crowds, radio and on film as a voice-over talent, singer-songwriter and actor. . Kosta also had the privilege of working in such movies as 'Behind the Candelabra", "Ironman" and Les Infideles", Jason Bourne to name a few. In 2012 Kosta joined Media Guilds International to help further develop his voice-over and acting aspirations and felt his dreams of utilizing his God given talents were finally becoming a long awaited career reality. During his tenure Kosta worked with Ms. Betty Lougaris, the founder of MGI, who graduated from the Pasadena Playhouse College of Theater Arts and received a BA and MA from Cal State University at Fullerton in Theater, TV & Writing and assisted in multiple venues that the group performed over the years. We had been very fortunate to have been blessed with some of Hollywoods' greats to grace our workshop throughout the years one such person was Don Lewis Barnhart a famous director of sitcoms such as "Saved By the Bell" " Benson" "Mork and Mindy" to name a few Mr Barnhart had given freely of his expertise to our group and for that we shall forever be thankful Mr.Barnhart had directed a scene written by Mark P.Saldo originally titled "The Director" and subsequently retitleda "The Audition" where Kosta took on the character of director Kosta also introduced casting agencies such as Goldman and Assoc. and more specifically Sharry Flaharty of Casting Call Entertainment to the group. This gave the group an opportunity to get more experience in the movie business. Kosta is very greatfull for Sharry and her film group at Dark Water Productions for bringing on board several MGI members into their production of movies. It has been very gratifying for me to see the people that I helped open doors for over the years are now seeing their acting dreams come true. Throughout the years Kosta has also directed several short films The Wraughtmen Portraits Bittersweet Treats and A Space Opera Quandary of the Galaxy Kosta is working on two scripts that he hopes to start pre production planning in 2019
