Ron Beau Phillips was born in November of 1963, in San Mateo, California, a suburb of San Francisco. After graduating from high school, he moved to Berkeley to attend the University of California, earning a bachelor's degree in history. After college he worked as a software engineer, including a four year stint as a partner/owner of a small company. At age 48 he began doing stand-up, and within a year was the weekend host at a small comedy club in Fort Lauderdale. Branching out in to improv comedy, and then in to acting, Phillips still manages to do stand-up two or three times a month, and is known for having new/fresh material quite frequently. His penchant for commenting on major news stories - often tragedies - earned him the nickname "the too soon guy", coined by the director of entertainment at a south Florida casino. Today, Phillips resides in Fort Lauderdale. Never married and without children, he pours his energy in to a variety of creative projects, ranging from film and television work to performances with an improv group.
