Manoranjan Prabhakar comes from a family of artists. His parents' influence in music (Father: Pandit. B. N. Parthasarathy Naidu and Mother: Smt. Govindamma) made Prabhakar start training in music in his early years. After training from Lt. David, Lt. K. Eshwar, Lt. Stephen Chacha and Music Director, M. S. Vishwanathan, Prabhakar started his career in the early 70's. Prabhakar started his early journey with Manoranjan and Party, a very well known band during the 1980's and performed in many shows. As a lead guitarist in his band he was quite popular for his charming looks and the kind of songs he chose to perform on stage. He then started composing for Albums and very soon came to be popular for his tracks in devotional, folk, light and patriotic genre. He is known by his original name in the Telugu Industry - Prabhakar Naidu. Prabhakar recorded over 800 albums. He worked with some of the largest recording companies including Ashwini Audio, Tips Industries, T-Series, Saregama, Aarti Live Cassettes, Anand Audio, Lahari Recording Company, Ragam Audio, Jhankar Music, Manoranjan Audio,, Manjula Live Cassettes, MCV Live Cassettes, Rainbow Audio, Revathi Devi Audio, Sri Balaji Audio, Taranga Live Cassettes, Ammu Audio, Kaveri Audio, Varsha Creations, Magnum Audio, AN Audio, Shruthi Tracks, Maheshwara Live Cassettes, Atthikatte Jagdish Audio etc.. Some of his well known albums are Sri Ganesha Bhakti Pushpanjali , Shiva Charanamrutha, Jaganmaathe Kolluru Mookaambike, Jaya Jaya Sri Veerabhadra, ShivaSthuthi, Lokadodeya Sri Ajjaiah, Karunisu Koodala Sangamanaatha, Irumudi Priya Ayyappa, Sathyam Shivam Sundaram, Sri Shivaaparadha Kshamapana Sthothiram, Loka Palaka Mailaralingayya, Aliya Alri Magal Ganda, Nanmaath Sullalla Kelranna, Atthe Kannu Mavun Myale, Maduveya Sambrama, Mallige Sampige, Rangoli, Baarammi Maavana Magale, Karulina Kudi Neenavva, Brahma Ninge Jodistheeni, Jaatrige Baa Paataragitthi, Aluratthemagale, Ravepilla Jatraki, Piilante Pillakadu, Oase Na Maradala Pilla, Vizag Pilla, etc.. In the early 90s, Prabhakr served as a part-time music teacher at Adarsha Film and TV Institute for over 8 years. He made time in his busy schedule to teach and train passionate individuals in music. In 2003 Prabhakar founded Shruthilaya Cultural Academy (R) through which he staged many music shows. He then started Shruthilaya Institute of Music, a division of Shruthilaya Cultural Academy (R). This music school offers professional training in Guitar, Keyboard, Vocal etc.. Prabhakar also has qualified professionals appointed to train and manage his school currently offering classes at Banashankari 3rd stage and Whitefield, Bangalore. He got his first break to compose for Prajegalu Prabhugalu, a Kannada movie in 1990. The movie was starred by Devaraj, Sundar Raj, Lokanath, Doddanna, Mysore Lokesh and directed by Bi Ma Nagaraj and Smt Vijayalakshmi Vishukumar. Although this was his first movie, Neene Nanna Jeeva was his first officially released movie in 1990. He then worked with many other directors such as B Ramamurthy, T Janardhan, Rajavardhan, Ramanna, Vijaya Shetty, Vemagal Jagannath Rao, Beema Nagaraj, S. Mahendar, B D Sheshu, Suresh Heblikar, Vasantha Kunigal, Tiger Prabhakar, Vemagal Jagannath Rao on movies like Nanagu Hendthi Beku, Kiladi Gandu, Hosamane Aliya, Ashoka Chakra, Nanagu Hendthi Beku, Shwethagni, Adjustment, Pranayada Pakshigalu, Gili Bete, Nyayakkagi Saval, Bhale Keshava, Jana Mecchida Maga , Mahendra Varma, Shakthi Yukthi, Mecchida Madumaga, Chamathkara, Thooguve Krishnana, Dourjanya, Amrutha Vani, Taaliya Bele, Hridayam, Idayatthin Oviyam, Then Sindum Thendral, etc. S. P. Balasubrahmanyam and Mano (Nagoor Babu) sang the most number of Prabhakar's tracks. The list also includes vibrant names such as K. J. He also Produced, Directed and Composed Music for Raagamaalika, a Kannada musical in 1994. The 13 episode bagged 4 Aryabhata Awards - Best Serial, Best Direction, Best Actor and Best Music. He worked with some renowned Directors - Ravi Kiran, Rajavardhan, Lingaraju, S. S. Rajesh, Arunachalam, Nandha Kishore, T. Nagendrappa, Gurudutt, K. M. Prabhakar worked on over 15 documentaries for The Films Division of India under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. He also directed a film, "Gaali Maathu" in the year 2000. Gaali Maathu is based on Ruskin Bond's short story, "The Boy Who Broke the Bank". It is about a boy who was working at a bank by sweeping up. The bank manager was way overdue in paying him for the job. Soon that bank collapsed and rumor had it that it was because of the unpaid boy. Because word got around that the boy didn't get paid, people assumed that the bank had no money. The people who dealt with the bank were worried about their money. This story is basically about how rumors and lack of communication can cause many problems and be destructive. Some of his noticeable collection are Melu Keelu, Bhandavya, Chaitrodaya, Kaayakave Kailasa, Kakarana Yugadi, Kanaka Jyothi, Marichike, Negila Yogi, Kadalatheeram (Malayalam), Jai Jawan (Hindi) etc.. He worked with most popular directors such as Veerappa Maralavadi , K. S Basavaraj, Rajavardhan, Gowthaman, A. S Nagaraj and Tiptur Raghu. Prabhakar started the (KCSS) Kannada Chalanachitra Sangeetagarara Sangha [Regd] on 19th December, 2011. As the Founder and President of KCSS, Prabhakar felt it is really important to have an union that helps and supports all the musicians of the Kannada film industry. KCSS is recognized by the Deputy Registrar of the Trade Union and Assistant Labor Commisioner under the Government of Karnataka.
