Michael Egan III

Michael Egan began as a teen model, and moved from the Midwest to attend a school which accommodated teens schedules who were actively acting in LA. There, Egan's friend Mark Ryan introduced him to Marc Collins-Rector, Chad Shackley and Brock Pierce - three men/boys who ran Digital Entertainment Network (DEN). DEN was a 90s internet company, with millions of dollars from powerful Hollywood investors to produce short video series marketed to young men over the internet (some describe it as an early version of YouTube). Michael Egan, Mark Ryan and a third young actor, Alexander Burton, came forward as victims of sexual abuse at the hands of the three DEN founders. The case claimed Collins-Rector, Shackley and Pierce sexually abused them over a period of years, as well as arranged to have them abused by top Hollywood power players in exchange for roles in films and a career in the industry. Collins-Rector, Shackley and Pierce fled the country, Egan and the two boys case was judged in their favor but the full justice/payment was never received. Collins-Rector is the only one of the three registered as a sex offender. Michael Egan came forward in 2014 with lawyer Jeff Herman handling his case against X-Men director Bryan Singer, director and Broadway producer Gary Goddard, former Disney TV head David Neuman, and founding president of Fox Entertainment Garth Ancier. Egan claimed all 4 major Hollywood figures were involved in a notorious and generally ignored pedophilia sex ring in the industry. Specific claims detailed Bryan Singer on more than one occasion forcing sexual acts on Egan with the promise of a role in X-Men. Alexander Burton, fellow accuser with Egan in the Collins-Rector case, instead received a role in X-Men as Pyro - reportedly after a "hot tub session" with Singer as reported by the New York Post. Jeff Herman dropped Michael Egan's case, after settling outside of court with Bryan Singer. Michael Egan's case was dismissed without prejudice, meaning he can file his case if he can find a lawyer willing to take on his case.
