Selena Thurmond Actor/Model Selena Thurmond, a beautiful, Somalian-African American young woman, who is gifted, with a bold spirit! She exudes confidence, intelligence and wise beyond her age. A recent graduate of The New School for Drama in New York, Selena successfully thrived as a student in the city as a "classically" trained actor. She took advantage of the opportunity given and secured the trust of her professors and peers. A native of Los Angeles, California, Selena caught the acting bug at an early age. She was an ambitious, inquisitive free spirit, who stole the hearts of all those she encountered. She had the capability to memorize and recite television commercials, movie scenes and musical scores from various sources of music. At the tender age of three, her mother recognized her skill set and knew that one day, her skills would be useful in the arts, therefore, enrolled her in private acting classes. A couple of years later, Selena enrolled in Wendy Raquel Robinson's Amazing Grace Conservatory (AGC), a place where she was able to exercise her newfound gifts with like-minded youth. With her humble spirit, Selena was a force to be reckoned with, who took risks, which resulted in securing lead roles. By the age of 11, Selena was destined to be in the entertainment industry when she secured the role of "Sarafina" at AGC. After this production, she consistently delivered, and the staff believed she was exceptionally talented in the arts and "mentally" capable for the journey that lies ahead of her. Selena's early training in the dramatic performing arts is paying off. She garnered a recurring role on Disney's "Game On;" she booked her first independent film, "Reggie Gaskins Urban Love Story," then went on to do short films and recently booked a role on CBS networks' S.W.A.T. Selena can't imagine life without acting, and she has been preparing for this journey most of her life, now, she can't wait to see what's next! Selena resides in California with her mother and enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She is a fashionista in her own right and loves to shop. When she is not studying or auditioning, she enjoys theater, going to the movies, writing, reading, dancing, listening to music, soccer, basketball, and last, but not least, Selena loves to travel and order hotel room service. Selena Thurmond is a fresh face, a shining star and "one to watch."
