Jesse Williamson grew up on the beaches of NSW; spending time immersed in art - from literature to illustration to music. Eventually, Williamson settled with his mother in Western Sydney, where he graduated high school and went on to study fine art with the intention of becoming a tattoo artist. During his studies, Williamson discovered the film program, to which he then went on to major in screenwriting and directing. Upon graduation, Williamson worked on numerous short films in various departments before applying to The Academy of Film, Theatre and Television to further his studies. During his time at AFTT, Williamson found that he would excel in the visual aspect of film; putting a lot of emphasis on art, and graphic design in particular, which would later become a staple to his work which is evident in his debut, and AFTT's Industry Award-winning film; "The Rage of Jesus".
