Marcello Cocchi was born the 1st of June of 1982 in Naples, where he currently lives. After completing classical studies and a long artistic training next to Bianca Toccafondi and the Maestro Carlo Merlo of the "Accademia Nazionale d'Arte Drammatica Silvio D'Amico", he worked as a theatre and TV actor - main character of "Invisibili" of Marco Berri, "La storia di Enrico" of Giano Sironich for the TV channel ItaliaUno and various telesales. He then graduated in Law from the "Universita' degli Studi di Napoli Federico II", always cultivating his passion for acting and communication and also trying radio speaking (Radio Centro Suono, 101.3 and Radio Antenna Uno) and writing. He published "Qualcosa in cui credere" Albatros Editore (winner of the XXIX Edition of the "First International Prize of Literature" promoted by the Italian Institute of Culture and by the literary magazine "Nuove Lettere" for the category "Libro Edito") and numerous poems among which Nu'Vas (winner of the First Literary Prize Letizia Isaia - XIII National Competition for Authors, sponsored by Regione Campania, the Chamber of Commerce of Naples and by Plei - "for describing the intense private world of adolescence with the enchantment of a dreamer"). He is also member of the Antica Accademia Tiberina and autor of short movies and of some radio formats - "So Cocchi vostri!" for Radio Godot and "Soul and Sound" for RadioAntennaUno- and also of numerous songs, among which "Non per una notte", "Non mi basti mai" and "I giorni che abbiamo" by him produced, written, set to music and interpreted. After the bar exam, he left for the USA to study directing and English. Back in Italy, he directed the short movie "The Echo of Thunder" and "NoEvil" an educational TV commercial against violence on women, silencing, racketeering and usury sponsored by Comune di Napoli- Department of Culture. He was also the second unit Director of the documentary "Almamegretta" and Assistant Director of four documentaries for Rai Storia "Le origini di Gomorra", Panama Film, and of other musical videos like "The truth" of the group Beltrami. He is currently a director, screenwriter and author for an audio-visual productions' company (among others, he was the author and the screenwriter of the Interactive Multimedia Installation "Nutrire l'Impero" for ARA PACIS MUSEUM - ROME). He collaborates with the daily "ROMA", on its cultural page.
