Ryan Alexander Huang is a writer, director, and alumnus of the University of Southern California's Film & TV Production program. Originally a microbiology major pursuing pre-med in his home state of Minnesota, he transferred to USC's School of Cinematic Arts to pursue his passion for filmmaking after his directorial debut "The Root of Evil" won Best Student Film at the 2014 Catalina Film Festival. In 2017 he wrote and directed the short World War II drama "Tiger of the White Sun," which examines the cross-cultural connections made between an American Flying Tiger pilot and the Chinese soldiers who come to his aid. His Vivian Maier biopic "The Woman in the Mirror" screened at the Sonoma International Film Festival in 2018, while "Continuum," a sci-fi drama co-directed by Ryan and Justin Chien, won an award for Outstanding Short Film at the 2018 Chinese American Film Festival. His upcoming short film "Endless Yesterdays" is a psychological mystery set in the world of racing in the 1960s. It is currently in development as a feature film.
