Shelby Sloan is a LA based actress, writer and comedian. Her most notable current works are the satirical parodies and sketches she writes and produces on her YouTube channel. Shelby studies Advanced Improv at The Groundlings school after training at Upright Citizen's Brigade in New York and performing on the Major League for ComedySportz Worldwide. She is grateful to have worked with some phenomenal companies such as Marvel, Spike TV, Warner Brother's, Bron and many others. Shelby-Marie Sloan was born in San Antonio, Texas and became a child model for Olsen Photography at six months old, that started a lifelong commitment to the arts. At three years old, her family moved to Dallas and in the following years she started dance classes, singing lessons and performance in Shakespeare plays. When she was nine, she decided to follow the theatrical path and went on to perform in six Shakespeare plays and two musicals, all before attending Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. By the time Shelby was eighteen years old she had performed in over twenty plays and musicals. Some of her favorite roles include 'Sandy' in Grease, 'Lucy' in 13, 'Wendy' in Peter Pan, 'Annie' in Annie and 'Olivia' in Twelfth Night. While in school, she studied acting on the side as well and trained with Cathryn Hartt, Antonia DeNardo and Lisa Picotte. Shelby originally attended the University of North Texas majoring in Finance, she ended up leaving school half way through her junior year to pursue comedy, by joining the Major League for ComedySportz Dallas, and work on reality television sets such as 'The Great American Baking Show' and 'Texas Flip N' Move'. This showed to be a smart decision as she ended up being offered a job to work for 'Ink Master' in New York and moved at the age of twenty four. While in New York, she studied improv at the Upright Citizen's Brigade and performed occasionally for ComedySportz New York City. Shelby had the fantastic opportunities to work on 'Gotham', 'Iron Fist', 'Motherless Brooklyn', 'Villains', the 60th Annual Grammy Awards at Madison Square Garden and 'Manifest' before leaving New York to pursue her career in sunny Los Angeles! Once Shelby was in Los Angeles, she began working various live events such as the American Music Awards, Kids Choice Sports Awards, the Academy Awards, Beyond Wonderland and EDC Las Vegas. During a slight struggle to break into the industry in LA, she landed a job working for former Casting Director, Amy Jo Berman who taught her invaluable information about the business and privately coached her for her auditions. She felt that her career was not moving fast enough, so as she trained with The Groundlings she began collaborating with other improvisors from her classes on parodies and sketches. These sketch comedy videos can be found on her YouTube channel and have started gaining traction for her comedic career. Just before the COVID-19 pandemic, Shelby began work with B17 Entertainment as a Casting Assistant and a soft launch of her production company, Damn Martini Entertainment. Damn Martini specializes in sketch comedy made almost entirely by women and will be internet based for the coming years. She is currently in Advanced Improv at The Groundlings School and signed by ICON Studios Dallas
