Nino Ruef (Born, May 28. 1996 in Bern) is a Swiss / French dual citizen actor, filmmaker, musician and is also known as entrepreneur and game changer. Already in kinder garden and school Nino was an entertainer. He took his first music lessons as a child and with the age of 10, he was offered to play in the main cast of the legendary William Tell open air theatre in Interlaken. After two seasons, speaking and singing in front of the theatre audience, Nino continued working on some of his own projects. This is when he founded his first company Time Studios Entertainment (formerly TimeStudiosCH) in his father's basement near Interlaken. At the time, there was also the platform YouTube, which entered the world wide web. Nino started as one of the first Swiss to use YouTube and later even made money with it and similar social media platforms. Today, social media has become a living, as Nino mentioned in various interviews. This is why, in 2013, he founded the Nino Ruef Group (now Payback Media Group). It focused on Management and Advertising and supported international companies as well as events and helped them to optimize their online and offline broadcasting. When YouTube started to become popular, Nino continued to work both in front and behind the camera, as at the time, nobody was interested or well informed enough on making it happen. With the age of 16, he dropped out of high school and boosted his career in the media industry. Nino focused on directing and editing videos and soon started to work on bigger projects. With this came further jobs in journalism. At one point, Nino was the head of the video team of the online magazine Journal B and later in summer 2015 he fulfilled this job for Europe's largest social content creator LikeMag. They chose him as their Partner and Executive Director of Video. Nevertheless, entertainment was always more in the focus than news. Soon after his dropout from high school, Nino worked for several well-known European artists. They hired him on the basis of earlier online work, which had impressed them. For the folk metal band «Eluveitie» he produced multiple videos as well as the Origins Number 1 Album Bonus DVD. «77 Bombay Street» made Nino their Creative Director and he spent close to a year touring around the globe with the four brothers. A further month-long tour through Europe followed with a job on the Game Day Tour by the rock band «The Baseballs». In 2015, the label «Payback» was founded by Nino and his partner Shannon Staller. The two started to produce their own film content in late 2015. With their first production «Lonely Weekend», they won the jury prize for«Best Short» at Europe's largest Horror Festival, the Weekend of Horrors in Germany. Since then, Nino has also been increasingly hired as a lecturer on motion pictures and video, social media or related topics. Amongst others, the Zurich University of Applied Sciences and the highly recognized Euroforum engaged him for various speeches. At the end of 2016 Nino and his partner, Shannon Staller founded the Payback Media Group, which took over all ongoing projects from the former Nino Ruef Group. Since January 2017 the Payback Media Group owns it's very own production studios just next to Europe's biggest waterfall, the Rhine Falls. Offering a home to various productions with in-house film, photography and recording studios.
