Jamie Barnett is the writer of the original screenplay of The Star Chase, an Indiana-Jones-meets-the-Wise-Men action drama that answers the question of why did the Magi come, what did they have to overcome to get there and what they found. Jamie Barnett is a retired Rear Admiral in the U.S. Navy and the former Chief of the Federal Communications Commission's Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau, where he led rule-makings and initiatives for public safety and emergency communications and cyber security. Since 2013, he has been a partner in the law firm of Venable LLP (offices in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Baltimore and Washington, D.C.), resident in the Washington, D.C. office. He is the Co-Chair of the Telecommunications Group. Admiral Barnett was an outspoken critic of Don't Ask, Don't Tell and was part of the effort to have it repealed. He served on the Board of Directors of the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network (later Outserve-SLDN). Since he retired, he has been active in Democratic politics. He was one of only 24 retired generals and admirals to endorse Senator Barack Obama at the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver. Jamie Barnett has had opinions published in the Washington Post, LA Times, Roll Call, Stars and Stripes, among other publications.
