Ross Murray was born in Japan Town in San Francisco. He was raised in Point Richmond and throughout Northern California. His parents are Dwight and Linda Murray. His father was a former Conductor for The United States Air Force and is a General Practitioner. His mother is a Special Education Teacher. Ross studied at A.C.T. and The Pacific Conservatory for the Performing Arts. Ross was mentored for over two years by Bay Area Rock and Blues Legend Steve Sage. Steve Sage, having been playing over fifty years, is a fill in musician for artists including Tower of Power and The Santana Band among others. Ross has written hundreds of songs which he sells as part of his Music Publishing Business. As a performer Ross performs a mix of Alternative Southern Folk Americana under his brand name Lakeside Commission. Ross' heritage comes from a long line of Musicians. He is the fourth cousin of Jim Reeves one of the founders of Modern Country Music. Ross is also the third cousin of Hall Of Famer, Gold Medalist, the first simultaneous Coach/Team Owner of the NFL; "The All American" Jim Thorpe. Three out of four of Ross' grandparents were Musicians and Songwriters. Ross is involved in volunteering charities for Autism Awareness and Animal Rights Protection.
