Rhyming with 'The Don,' Javan Hamilton is a television producer/host graphic designer and journalist based in Houston, Texas. Born in New Orleans in 1989, he is a proud godfather of three girls, with all of them belonging to a large, lively New Orleanian family. He wrote, designed visuals, arranged music and produced for television all while making excellent grades in college. Javan received some of the best education growing up, having been in gifted classes and accelerated schools since the second grade; he's attended schools in New Orleans, the Dallas area and Baton Rouge. A Katrina victim, he spent the first two years of high school at Edna Karr in New Orleans, spending his years after the storm at Tara High School in Baton Rouge, where he graduated in 2007. He went on to attend Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) for their Graphics program. Studying under Angela Saia and Tammy Brown, two celebrated businesswomen in Baton Rouge, Javan graduated in May 2015 on the Chancellor's List, summa cum laude with a 4.0 GPA. Javan spent his entire childhood making music, producing visual art and creating video parodies of favorites "I Love the 80s," "Press Your Luck" and "The Flip Wilson Show," so much so that it often got him in trouble due to falling grades. As an adult, he has worked with and shadowed some of the biggest names in the Baton Rouge area. But despite those teachings, most of his knowledge is self-taught. Hailed by some of the best in the market, Javan was known for his ability to transform, single-handedly re-branding local broadcasts into those on par with larger productions. Javan got his start in local television in 2014 through "BRCC Today," a then public-access talk show for Baton Rouge Community College. But after a series of freelance work through 2015, he eventually became an integral part of "MyScene TV," a respected entertainment broadcast serving as broadcast designer, co-executive producer, feature journalist and host. Until March 2018, Javan served as Graphics Operator at NBC/Fox affiliates WVLA Local 33/WGMB Fox 44 (Nexstar Broadcasting), where his design work and feature stories were seen across all newscasts. But he can currently be seen as host of "This Is Houston" for the Houston Live TV Network.
